How did you get into the restaurant industry?

I was always around restaurants growing up. My father, Andrew Masciangelo, has worked at Savona my whole life and I always loved going to visit the restaurant. When I turned 16, I got my first job at a local pizzeria where I learned all the ins and outs of the industry. Shortly after, I started working at Savona, where I worked my way up from a food runner to a manager. During COVID, I had the opportunity to help with all of the marketing for Savona. When I graduated from Temple University in 2021, I decided to stay and eventually became the Marketing Manager for Savona Restaurant and Pure Roots Provisions!

When you’re not working, what do you enjoy doing?

When I'm not at work I enjoy going to concerts, relaxing at the beach, and spending time with my family. 

What is your favorite food to cook? 

My favorite food to cook would have to be homemade meatballs and pasta sauce. Almost every Sunday growing up we would have huge pasta dinners and sit around the table for hours talking. To this day I still love making homemade pasta sauce and being able to impress all my friends with such an easy meal. 

What would be your last meal on earth? 

My last meal on earth would have to be a HUGE seafood tower and my grandfather's homemade spinach and ricotta ravioli. 

What is your favorite part about working at Pure Roots?

Working here has given me the freedom, creativity, and opportunity to learn new things every day. I also love that I have been fortunate enough to be able to work with a team of people that have become my second family.
