Meet Chef Kristina Wisneski

Name: Kristina Wisneski

Position: Sous Chef


How did you get into cooking?

Coming from a family that always cooked and had dinner together, I always loved helping. When I got older I started making dinner for my family and eventually I started working at restaurants in the Lehigh Valley before heading to Penn Tech for college.


What is your favorite food to cook?

Soups and sauces. They don’t seem like a big deal, but if you’ve ever had a bad sauce or soup compared to a delicious one, then you’d understand this. I think sauces are the basic foundation of cooking (at least every one I’ve worked with has taught me that) and can progress a dish into something completely different. As for soups, who doesn’t love soup?!


What would be your last meal on earth? 

Probably ramen or pho if I had to pick something savory. If it was something sweet, then definitely chocolate molten cake with chocolate ice cream.


What are the three ingredients you need in your kitchen?

Salt, Butter, and Garlic


What is your favorite part about working at Pure Roots?

So far, my favorite part about working here would be the family feeling of everyone working together for the same outcome. It doesn’t matter what needs to get done, we all do it!  Also, It has been fun utilizing some skills for large production/ catering that I haven’t gotten to use in a while.
